Spirits of Spring

The sound of Spirits Of Spring is a mix of nature and magic.  As always, Brian tried to blur the line between sound design and music to give this emotional journey an interactive soundscape to remember.  Brian and his team took a trip to the north of Quebec to a town called Chisasibi, to capture winter at its coldest and get inspiration from the Cree culture.

All of the instrumentation used is of real acoustic instruments, and we made and effort to use as much ‘Cree’ influences as possible, such as using authentic Cree singing (by a Cree singer) for the finale end track.  We also used obscure instruments that are featured in the game such as the Mongolian ‘Morin Huur’ (a Mongolian Cello), Baroque Cello, flutes made out of Horns, and handmade percussion, etc.  All music is composed, produced and performed by Brian D’Oliveira.
